At Genesis Radio, we strive for top-tier broadcasting excellence. Whether you’re looking to host a music show, a talk segment, or a specialty program, we expect a level of professionalism that ensures a smooth and engaging listening experience. If you’re interested in becoming a broadcaster with us, here’s what we expect in terms of quality and content standards.
🎧 Technical Requirements
Clear Audio: Your microphone setup should deliver crisp, professional-sounding audio with minimal background noise.
Reliable Internet Connection: A stable, high-speed connection is required to prevent dropouts or audio distortion during live broadcasts.
Broadcast Software Knowledge: Familiarity with StationPlaylist Studio, RadioBOSS, or similar software is a plus. We can provide guidance, but you should be comfortable running your own show. If you plan on voice tracking a show remotely, we can provide the remote tracking software and train you in its use. All other policies apply, however.
You must have, or be able to obtain Telegram/Unigram in order to receive our announcements internally. You should also have a dropbox account, as that is how we distribute our liners/imaging.
Proper Levels & Processing: Your broadcast should be properly leveled and free from excessive clipping, echo, distortion, or inconsistencies in volume.
🎙️ Content & Presentation
Engaging Delivery: Energy, enthusiasm, and a connection with your audience are key. A monotone or disorganized show won’t keep listeners engaged.
Show Structure: Each broadcast should have a clear format, whether it’s music-driven, talk-based, or a hybrid. We encourage thematic consistency to build an audience.
Station Branding Compliance: DJs must adhere to Genesis Radio’s identity, which includes proper use of station IDs, sweepers, and breaks at appropriate times.
📻 Professionalism & Commitment
Consistency: Regularly scheduled shows help maintain an audience. If you commit to a time slot, we expect you to show up or notify us in advance of any absence.
Team Collaboration: While we love creative independence, broadcasters are part of a team. We expect DJs to contribute to the Genesis Radio community and communicate effectively.
Respect for Station Policy: We have established standards for broadcasting rights, music selection, and general station operations. DJs must respect copyright laws and adhere to station guidelines.
